INTRODUCTION ON TRADE UNION OF MACHINES AND INDUSTRIAL EQUIPMENT CORPORATION

   Trade Union of Machines and Industrial Equipment Corporation was established under Decision No.  03/QĐ-CL dated 7 January 1997 made by Trade Union of  Vietnam National Mechanics and Metallurgy (currently known as Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade) and its name was changed into Trade Union of Machines and Industrial Equipment Corporation – Joint Stock Company under Decision No. 47/QĐ-CĐCT dated 23 February 2017 of Vietnam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade of which the Head Office is located at No. 7A Mac Thi Buoi, Vinh Tuy ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi.

   Trade Union of the Corporation is upper one which is currently managing 16 smaller Trade Unions covering 3 regions (north, middle and south regions) with participation of 2,200 members.  There are many changes in the number of subordinated trade unions and members compared with those at the early establishment because of many reasons: subjective appointment, privatization, merging, office leave (18 establishments/ 7,000 members).

 

   Trade Union of Machines and Industrial Equipment Corporation experienced 4 sessions of congress. In the IVth congress, tenure from 2012 to 2017, 15 members in the Executive Board was elected, including Mr. Tran Quoc Toa appointed as the Chairman, Ms. Dinh Hong Mai appointed as Vice Chairman in charge and currently acts as Chairman, Mr. Ton Quang Liem appointed as Vice Chairman.

 

   Along with the development of the Corporation, over the past 20 years, the Trade Union of the corporation has gradually developed in all aspects with clear determination of roles, position, functions and duties of the trade union in relation with objectives, duties, development strategy of the Corporation. Trade Union of Machines and Industrial Equipment Corporation has always adhered to guidelines, resolutions of the Party, the State and Trade Union at levels, made positive innovation in terms of organization, contents and activity methods in order to foster the political dissemination, improve the awareness of employees. Trade Union of the Corporation coordinated with professional units to organize well sessions of the congress for employees in the Corporation, set up democratic regulations, signed collective agreement at the corporation level. Trade Union of the Corporation coordinated with that at grassroots and its members in taking care of the life of its members, employees and appealing employees to participate in charitable programmes and make contributions to funds like “Compassion Fund”, “Trade Union Compassion Fund” to provide support for members and employees with disadvantageous conditions, commend and reward excellent and poor pupils who try to make efforts in overcoming difficulties and learning, promoted culture and sports movements in employees, organized competitions for skilled workers and excellent union officials. All of these have contributed to vivid activities and enhance the role of the trade union.

 

   Trade Union of MIE really helps connect the enterprise and its employees and acts as the friend and the support of its employees. Trade Union of MIE has coordinated with trade unions at grassroots level to make efforts in making the trade union become strong in all aspects. It is really the same home for MIE’s employees.

   After 20 years of operations, the Trade Union of Machines and Industrial Equipment Corporation and its member units have received many certificates of merit and emulation flags offered by Vientam National Union of Workers in Industry and Trade, emulation flags offered by Vietnam Trade Union and noble awards offered by the Party and the State.
