On July 18, 2025, the Trade Union of the Machinery and Industrial Equipment Corporation – JSC (MIE) held a conference at its headquarters to review its activities in the first six months and outline key tasks for the second half of the year.

The event was attended by Mr. Vu Truong Son, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade Workers; Mr. Tran Quoc Toan, Party Committee Secretary and Chairman of MIE’s Board of Management; members of the Standing Committee, Executive Committee, and Inspection Committee of the MIE Trade Union; as well as presidents and heads of the Women’s Affairs Committees from affiliated grassroots trade unions.
On behalf of the Standing Committee, Ms. Dinh Hong Mai, Chairperson of the MIE Trade Union, delivered a report evaluating the Union’s performance in the first half of 2025 and setting out priorities for the remainder of the year.
In the first six months, the MIE Trade Union consistently followed the direction of the Party Committee and the Vietnam National Union of Industry and Trade Workers, aligned its activities with the Corporation’s business and production goals. Action plans were clearly defined and implemented with strong consensus from the Standing Committee and Executive Committee, and consistent coordination from the MIE Union down to the grassroots level.
Communication efforts to disseminate policies, regulations, and business plans were carried out through various formats, helping employees easily understand and follow. Cultural and sports activities, participation in management, and efforts to care for and protect the legitimate rights and interests of union members and workers were implemented effectively.
However, several limitations were noted for the first half of 2025, consisting:
- Patriotic emulation movements did not yield the expected results, and the number of ideas and initiatives remained modest.
- Reporting from some grassroots trade unions was slow and incomplete, with data that did not fully reflect actual activities.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Vu Truong Son and Mr. Tran Quoc Toan acknowledged and praised the achievements of the MIE Trade Union during the first half of 2025. They also emphasized the importance of continued close coordination between the Trade Union and its grassroots unions to strengthen political and ideological education, and to encourage union members and workers to actively study and improve their qualifications, professional skills, and vocational abilities, strictly comply with corporate regulations, and stay united to overcome difficulties and successfully complete assigned tasks. The union was also encouraged to proactively understand concerns and aspirations of its members and workers, effectively perform its role as a bridge between employees and management, coordinate with the professional departments to properly implement employee benefits, and organize meaningful cultural and sports events to enrich the spiritual lives of workers. This will help create a comfortable, joyful, and efficient working environment, help employees feel more engaged and committed to MIE and their respective units.
