MIE Wins Bid for SL3.TB-02 Package: Supply, Installation, and Commissioning of Hydro-Mechanical Equipment for the Song Lo 3 Hydropower Project

On September 19, 2025, in Hanoi, the Joint venture between Machines And Industrial Equipment Corporation (MIE) and Hoang Anh Lifting Equipments And Steel Structure Joint Stock Company (HAC), represented by MIE, officially signed the contract for package SL3.TB-02: Supply, Installation, and Commissioning of Hydro-Mechanical Equipment for the Song Lo 3 Hydropower Project. The contract was awarded by the investor, Xuan Thien Ha Giang Co., Ltd., a member of Bitexco Group.

The Song Lo 3 Hydropower Plant is being constructed in Vi Xuyen and Linh Ho communes, Tuyen Quang province, with an installed capacity of 22 MW, comprising two Capsule Turbine units. The plant is expected to generate an average of 69,338 million kWh annually, with commercial operation scheduled for June 2027.
MIE’s selection for this critical package reaffirms the company’s reputation and capabilities in the field of hydro-mechanical engineering. Previously, MIE successfully executed several Bitexco-invested projects, including Long Tao Hydropower Plant (44 MW) and Nho Que 2 Hydropower Plant (48 MW), both of which have demonstrated high quality and operational safety over the years.
Under this contract, MIE will be responsible for the design, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing, commissioning, and on-site acceptance of key components including the spillway gates, intake gates, powerhouse gantry crane, and downstream equipment. The scope also includes operator training, technology transfer, and equipment warranty. The implementation period is 13 months.

During the signing ceremony, representatives from all parties expressed confidence and optimism that this collaboration will open new opportunities and foster long-term partnerships between MIE and Bitexco Group, not only in hydropower but across various industrial sectors. The parties also reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable socio-economic development in Vietnam’s northern mountainous regions and nationwide.
