Sesan 4 solar power factory connects to the national grid

   On November 5, the Sesan 4 solar power plant project was successfully connected to the national power grid. It is expected that when put into operation, this project will contribute to the average power supply of 72.4 million kWh/year for the national power system.    Se San 4 solar power plant project was built in Ia Toi commune, Ia H'Drai district, Kon Tum province, invested by Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) with a total investment capital of over 937 billions dong. The Power Projects Managerment Board No.2 is the representative of the investor.
 

   This is a project implemented by a consortium of contractors of Industrial Machinery and Equipment Corporation - JSC (MIE) and HUAYUAN (China) in the form of EPC contract.
 

   The project was started in December 2019, the project implementation process was right at the time of the worldwide outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, which caused a lot of difficulties for construction and installation Se San 4 powerplant. The social blockade, temporary suspension of visa issuance for foreigners entering Vietnam also makes it difficult to mobilize human resources, Chinese experts are not allowed to enter and work directly at the construction site. factory. All implementation plans must be implemented via software and online devices. These things make trade limited, import and customs clearance difficult, etc.
 

   Determining that this is a key project of the Corporation, the Board of Directors has directed directly and with the determination, efforts, the unanimity of all employees of the Corporation, the coordination of HUAYUAN and the support. With the support of the Investor and related parties, difficulties and problems have been gradually overcome. The organization and implementation of construction has met and kept up with the signed contract progress

   In September 2020, the design, equipment supply and construction work was basically completed, including main works such as installing photovoltaic battery systems, integrated inverter stations, main transformers, 220 kV distribution yard equipment and supervisory control system, qualified for the energizing and power generation test of the plant

   However, the situation of rains and floods is extremely complicated in the Central and Central Highlands regions. The whole country in general and EVN in particular must focus on flood response forces and must give priority to generating electricity from hydroelectric plants to reduce lake water levels in order to reduce flood water levels. Therefore, the Sesan 4 Solar Power Plant Project has to adjust the energizing time to give priority to the Sesan 4 Hydropower Plant and the hydropower plants on the upper steps running water dischargers and generating electricity.

   The Sesan 4 Solar Power Plant Project is one of the few projects in Vietnam funded by the French Development Agency (AFD) without any government guarantee. However, with the prestige of EVN and the project management experience of the Power Project Management Board 2, the capacity and experience of the MIE and HUAYUAN Contractors, the project has been organized and implemented strictly according to the signed contract and approved AFD inspects the site, appreciates the quality, progress, and compliance with the safety, environmental and social conditions required by AFD.
 

   This is a great success for Machines and Industrial Equipment Corporation (MIE) and HUAYUAN when strictly implementing strict requirements on quality, environment and society as required by organizations international. The project coming into operation not only helps to partially solve the concerns for the power system but also continues to affirm that the development of renewable energy is the right decision, taking advantage of national resources, protecting the environment  schools, towards the goal of sustainable development.
